Branshore Marine installs and troubleshoots electrical, electronics and onboard systems on boats around the Portland area, and we explain the work as we go.
Work is done to ABYC and industry standards.
DC and AC systems, battery banks and lithium upgrades, charging, solar, inverters and shore power.
NMEA 2000 networks, chartplotters, radar, AIS and VHF, autopilots and Starlink, and the wiring behind them.
Bilge pumps, fresh water and plumbing, refrigeration, windlasses and thrusters, and the hardware that holds them.
A walk-through of your own boat: what each switch does, where the fuses are, what to check each month and what to do when something quits.
Doing the work yourself? Book a flat-fee sit-down. We work out what the job takes and how it goes together, and you leave with a written plan and phone support.
Branshore Marine is run by Chris Richard out of Scappoose, Oregon, on the Columbia River side of the Portland area. Most problems on a boat touch more than one system, so we look at how the whole job fits together before anything gets cut, drilled or wired.
The best part of the job is showing owners how their boat works. An owner who knows where the fuses are and why the pump is wired the way it is catches problems early. That's why we write the weekly blog, too.
We're members of the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), and our work follows its standards.
